Ziesenheim recently retired (May 2008) after serving as president of Thornburg Securities Corporation and managing director of Thornburg Investment Management in Santa Fe, N.M. for 13 years.  Prior to joining Thornburg Securities Corporation, Ziesenheim served as senior vice president for Raymond James & Associates.   He also practiced law in Colorado and Texas preceding his financial planning career. 

 

Ziesenheim currently serves on the board of directors for the 28,500-member Financial Planning Association® (FPA®).He served as president and chair of the Tampa Bay chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) and a past national board member of IAFP. He has also served as board member and chair for the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).  

 

Ziesenheim is a graduate of Security Industry Institute at Wharton and the College for Financial Planning.  He received a Master of Law in taxation from the University of Denver, a Juris Doctorate from Baylor University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University.
